APTOS THREAD – GENTLE FACIAL FIRMING & SUBTLE LIFTING
-
WHAT IS THE APTOS THREAD ?
New technique has been used for the past 5 years as alternative to the more
surgically invasive face-lift .
The Aptos thread corrects the weakening of facial structure by adding support
to the skin and underlying tissue ,it elevates and lifts lax skin of the brow
face and neck without surgery .
The threads are made from a fine, medical non –absorbable prolene fibre,
which has been used for many years in surgical operations. the uniqueness
of the fiber is the “bi-directional cog” like design ,which enables
the thread to support and lift the skin and underlying tissue creating a fresher
appearance .the threads are introduced through tiny needle holes meaning a
minimally invasive procedure .
-
AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?
The aptos thread is ideally suited for younger and middle aged patients whose
skin tone has become lax with time or sun damage .
-
WHAT DOES THE PROCEDURE INVOLVE?
The procedure (Aptos Thread) is usually performed quite comfortably under local anesthesia
with light sedation.
The procedure takes approximately an hour depending on the number of areas
being treated and the number of threads used .the threads leaves no obvious
scars as they are introduced through tiny puncture sites.
There is no need for any dressing to the face as the tiny holes close over
within 1 to 2 days usually without any marks . The thread lift effects will
continue for up to 3-5 years .
-WILL
THE THREAD BE UNCOMFORTABLE ?
During the procedure the local anesthesia is used to provide patient comfort
.after the procedure, there can be some discomfort where the thread has been
introduced and secured .
Pain relief medication such as panadol can be taken .some patients state they
feel a ‘pulling” or “tightness”, but this usually
disappear over the next few days.
-WHAT WILL I LOOK LIKE AFTER THE PROCEDURE ?
After the procedure you can be slightly swollen and bruised for 4 to 10 days
depending on the number of areas that have been treated .after 2 days ,patients
are usually able to apply camouflage make-up to hide any of the pale bruising
.
-
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE LOOK AFTER THE PROCEDURE ?
Threads maybe removed or more threads may be added to create a look you may
prefer.
-
WHAT IF THE THREADS ARE TOO LOSE OR TOO TIGHT?
It is normal for the threads to feel tight initially after the procedure;
however with time the threads will no longer feel abnormally tight.
If the threads are too loose, additional threads can be positioned to tighten
the area.

WILL THE THREADS STOP MY FACE FROM SHOWING SIGNS OF DROOPING ?
The threads can last for years and will help to strengthen the skin in the
area it has been placed .however, over time the threads may loosen and the
Face may show signs of ageing.

ARE THERE ANY COMPLIATIONS OR RISKS ASSOCIATED WITH APTOS THREAD?
- Infection: patients are required to take a course of antibiotics to prevent
any complications.
-bleeding and bruising: which is normal, however avoiding aspirin and some
vitamins will minimize the risk of excessive problems.
-threads are too tight or too loose: threads may be removed or replaced to
correct any difficulty.
